Email deliverability

Use this tool to check the SMTP configuration on any server sending emails: http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=smtp%3Aclients01.jarv.us&run=toolpage

I found a simple issue was preventing comcast from accepting our emails – the myhostname value in /etc/postfix/main.cf should be changed from “localhost” to whatever the servers primary hostname is. It needs to be the same hostname that the server’s IP reverses to. With DigitalOcean this is whatever you put for the name of your droplet, so if you just put something like “clients01” for a droplet name you should go into the settings for the droplet and change it to “clients01.jarv.us” so that it matches an FQDN that points back at the same server
